Description

Speech Language Pathologist are needed to service our home-based program children. The children we service typically need a few hours a week. We can provide you with multiple 30 minute sessions at a very competitive rate.

Our agency services all five boroughs of New York City. We currently have high demand in multiple areas in Manhattan, Queens, and the Brooklyn. More specifically in the following areas.

Our Amazing Speech Department
Our speech department is staffed with professionals that are well versed in alternative and augmentative communication. As you know, the purpose of speech-language therapy is to enhance intentional communication via expression of ideas, obtaining desires, sharing information, and interpersonal interaction. Language is the means by which communication is achieved.

The Early Intervention Program
The NYC Department of Health (DOH) provides funding to help young children (birth-3 year) with developmental delays in learning, playing, talking, and/or walking to get the care they need. The idea is that the earlier a child enters the program, the sooner they can learn the skills they need. Children in this program are typically served in their own home, day care centers, or family day care homes. We expect applicants to have DOH knowledge when applying for this position.

What are the qualifications for this position?
Professional Speech Language Pathologist Degree (required)
Current NYS Licensure (required)
Experience with NYC DOH Early Intervention Program; knowledge of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate practice.
Experience working with infants and toddlers with development delay

Communication skills opens the child to the world around them. Knowing that you are not just providing the child with early intervention services, rather, you are gifting the young toddler with the ability to connect and express themselves. Constant evaluation of progress and effectiveness of the treatment allows you to adjust it and achieve maximum benefits. Documenting detailed reports in a timely manner gives everyone access to assessments and activities. Collaboration and teamwork are key to the success of the individualized programming of each child.
